Message to Parents and Golfers
Hello Prospective Golfers and Parents,This year we are going to try something new. I have created a sign up form for the players to fill out. Think of it as a combination of a contact form, email list, and registration form. With these pieces of data I will be able to create a long term program for Tualatin and make it easy to hand down to new coaches. Parents and players are invited to sign up. If you do sign up then it makes it much easier for us to insure we have the locations and space needed to be effective.
Once again this year we will be providing boys golf at all levels; Varsity, JV, and Development. Varsity and JV consist of 5 person teams. At times we will take a few alternates and alternate tournament play. However the expectation from OSAA is to only have a ten member team.
Varsity has 4 returning members who have their sites set on a return to the State Tournament. However all spots are open to challenges so if you play well you can take one of those spots. An expected score is in the low 80's to low 70's
Junior Varsity will also have returning members who have worked in the off season to get better and drop those scores. As mentioned above the team consists of 5 members but I may take 2 more depending on the level of the players. The expected scores should be in the mid 80's to mid 90's.
The Development Team was started last year and was a real success for the boys who joined. The program is more of a club however because OSAA does not have a JV2 or Development league. That's unfortunate but our coaching staff does plan one day on the range and one day on a course so that everyone can get to learn the basics and improve. There are no expectations here so that we can insure players are learning about the game and how it can be played. The development team does have a cost associated in order to pay for practice balls and rounds.
